I absolutely love creating collections, so putting together 10 holiday cards that work together as a set was such a fun project! I made sure to include classic icons like snowmen, Santa, and reindeer, but reimagined in a well-designed, nostalgic style. With these cards, I focused on making the most of the die-cut shapes to add visual interest. To complete the collection, I added some quirky, playful characters that might appeal more to kids…or simply bring out that sense of holiday surprise and delight!
Christmas Cards | American Greetings | 2023
American Greetings asked me to develop 3 cards to release for the 2023 holiday season. The cards were intended for kids, and would have die-cut edges as a premium feature. I was asked to come up with concepts, finished art, and interior sentiments for each.
One card was intended to sit on a feature with a range of holiday stationery. I wanted to make a big statement so I created an oversized polar bear with big hugging die-cut arms. This card is designed to stand up when both arms are opened, making it a great decor piece as well!
The other cards were sold as a 2-pack. American Greetings wanted a little of both cards to be visible from the front when packaged together because the back would feature the art for the insides of each card. With this in mind, I designed the reindeer with a deep die-cut along the antlers so the tree card could peek through!
